Local artists Gill Miller and Mazda Munn have an interesting project taking shape within the Garrisons grounds which some of you may have noticed already. The piece is a living willow sculpture located near the elm trees which were felled and provided the wood for the Commonwealth Games "Queen's Baton" and will itself commemorate this piece of local history as part of the Cumbrae legacy towards the games.

The "Finding Your Feet" charity host an annual fundraising event each year in the grounds of Garrison House. This year during the event on 11th June 2017, both CEO Michael Bertram and board director Bob Campbell will be performing a FireWalk.
Twenty years since a group of concerned citizens of Millport decided that they were not going to sit idly by and let Garrison House fall into disrepair we salute their efforts to save this magnificent building for future generations.
We are delighted to be able to offer First Aid Training at the Drop in Centre, Garrison House by Mr Bob Campbell, who is a qualified First Aid Instructor, on Wednesday, 27th and Thursday, 28th April 2016.
Garrison House was rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2001, but the due to funding challenges CCDC could not complete all the improvement in the grounds to create a formal landscaped appearance. Cumbrae Community Development Company (CCDC) would like to formally thank the Kelburn Wind Farm for the funds to commence the ‘clean-up’ project at Garrison House.

The community-run Garrison House has an oil-fired heating system installed around ten years ago to a high standard as part of extensive renovation works. As part of a recent Energy Audit through Ms Abbe Cusack of Resource Efficient Scotland, finance for the recommended improvements was arranged through Energy Scotland.

CCDC were approached earlier this year by North Ayrshire Council to partner in a project with the Isle of Arran. As part of this initiative, council suggested that we form a Millport Moorings committee.

CCDC has some thrilling news to share regarding the 2016 sailing season. We were approached earlier this year by North Ayrshire Council to partner in a project with the Isle of Arran. The project scope was to improve and where possible, extend the number and use of moorings on the two islands.
