Local artists Gill Miller and Mazda Munn have an interesting project taking shape within the Garrisons grounds which some of you may have noticed already. The piece is a living willow sculpture located near the elm trees which were felled and provided the wood for the Commonwealth Games “Queen’s Baton” and will itself commemorate this piece of local history as part of the Cumbrae legacy towards the games.

Speaking with some of those involved in the project, the sculpture will grow over a period of 2-3 years developing into a flame with a secret leafy tunnel hidden within the structure itself.

A fantastic and beautiful addition to the grounds of the Garrison House.
